Dr. Faris Atchoo, DO
Faris Atchoo was born in New York, the son of two doctors. After his parents completed their residency in New York the family moved to Oxford, MI where Dr. Atchoo was raised. A graduate of Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, he completed a rotating internship at Bi-County Hospital/Detroit Osteopathic Hospital in addition to his residency in Internal Medicine at Providence Hospital in Southfield, MI.
After Dr. Atchoo’s residency at Providence Hospital, he moved to Mount Pleasant, MI. He had a successful medical practice for 19 years before moving back to the Metro area to be closer to family in 2014. He is fortunate to be able to reopen the medical office his parents established 40 years ago in Waterford, MI. The office had been a well-recognized landmark for decades.
Dr. Atchoo is nationally recognized, his name having been made fun of twice each on the Late Night with David Letterman and Jay Leno on The Tonight Show.
Caring, experienced and trustworthy, Dr. Atchoo is Board Certified (recertified in 2015) and offers medical care for adults and adolescents, including osteopathic manipulation, minor office procedures, and prolotherapy. Cleo, his registered therapy dog is on site and loves to greet patients when they visit. Together, the staff at Atchoo Medical Practice are always working to improve your quality of life.
